某県某所。
都会からずいぶん離れた山間の田舎の道を走って行く。すると、右側に長い階段が見えてきた。そこが目的の廃墟だった。
宗教施設の廃墟。
このジャンルは日本各地に幾つか存在するが、そのどれもが残留物が面白い。だいたいは金銭絡みの事情から施設が放棄されていることが多く、夜逃げ同然でいなくなっていくのか、物をそのままにしていなくなり、それ故に変わった廃墟になるのである。
本来神や仏を祀っているはずの施設が、半ば放置されているという現実は恐ろしい。そこに居たはずの神聖な者達は、一体どうしてしまうのだろうか。沢山の人の信仰心はどうなったのか。
様々な思いが込められた廃墟を紹介しよう。
Dans une certaine préfecture, à un endroit précis.
Je roule sur une route de campagne dans une vallée isolée, loin de la ville. Puis, sur la droite, un long escalier apparaît. C'était là, la ruine que je cherchais.
Une ruine d'installation religieuse.
Ce genre de lieu existe en plusieurs endroits au Japon, et tous contiennent des vestiges fascinants. La plupart du temps, ces installations sont abandonnées pour des raisons financières, leurs occupants disparaissant presque comme s'ils fuyaient en pleine nuit, laissant tout sur place. Cela donne naissance à des ruines inhabituelles.
Le fait qu'un lieu censé vénérer des dieux ou des bouddhas soit à moitié abandonné est terrifiant. Que sont devenus les êtres sacrés qui étaient censés y résider? Qu'est-il arrivé à la foi de tant de personnes?
Voici une présentation de ces ruines imprégnées de diverses pensées.
In a certain prefecture, at a specific location.
I drive along a rural road in a mountain valley far from the city. Then, on the right, a long staircase comes into view. That was the ruin I was looking for.
A ruin of a religious facility.
This type of place exists in several locations across Japan, and each one has fascinating remnants. Most of the time, these facilities are abandoned due to financial issues, with their occupants disappearing almost as if fleeing in the night, leaving everything behind. This results in unusual ruins.
The reality of a place meant to worship gods or Buddhas being half-abandoned is terrifying. What happened to the sacred beings that were supposed to reside there? What became of the faith of so many people?
Let me introduce you to these ruins imbued with various thoughts.
長い長い階段をひたすら登る。宗教施設にありがちな階段のようだ。
Je monte inlassablement le long, très long escalier. C'est typique des escaliers que l'on trouve dans les installations religieuses.
I climb the long, long staircase relentlessly. It’s the kind of staircase typical of religious facilities.
階段の終わり、ようやく建物の輪郭がはっきりしだした。
À la fin de l'escalier, la silhouette du bâtiment commence enfin à se dessiner clairement.
At the end of the staircase, the outline of the building finally begins to become clear.
頂上までついた。荒れ放題の敷地が、放置されてからの年月を思わせる。
Je suis arrivé au sommet. Le terrain, complètement à l'abandon, témoigne des nombreuses années écoulées depuis qu'il a été laissé à l'abandon.
I’ve reached the top. The completely neglected grounds evoke the many years that have passed since it was abandoned.
ここは宗教施設の複合体のようで、この敷地に様々な建物がある。
Il semble que cet endroit soit un complexe d'installations religieuses, avec divers bâtiments sur ce terrain.
It appears that this place is a complex of religious facilities, with various buildings on the grounds.
まずは、正面の施設から入ってみよう。
Commençons par entrer dans l'installation située à l'avant.

正面玄関。壁紙などは剥がれ、腐食している。

The main entrance. The wallpaper is peeling off and shows signs of decay.
二階に登ってみる。

まだ綺麗な感じの二階。

二階には大広間のような場所があった。そして、なにやらいろいろ散らばっている。
Au deuxième étage, il y avait une grande salle ressemblant à un hall. Et divers objets étaient éparpillés un peu partout.
On the second floor, there was a large room resembling a hall. Various items were scattered around.
そこにはやばそうなものが沢山あった。
Il y avait là beaucoup de choses inquiétantes.
There were many unsettling things there.
大量の個人情報。
Une grande quantité d'informations personnelles.
A large amount of personal information.
テープ。
Des cassettes.
Tapes.
誰かの通帳。
Le livret bancaire de quelqu'un.
Someone's bankbook.

ここはかなり危険な予感がしたのだ・・・

I had a really bad feeling about this place...
かなり生々しい光景だったので、後日調べてみたのだが、やはり金銭のトラブルで裁判だのなんだのとトラブルになり、破産したらしい。それを証明するように、関係資料が多数発見された。
C'était une scène assez brutale, alors j'ai fait des recherches par la suite. Comme je le pensais, il y avait eu des problèmes financiers qui avaient conduit à des procès et autres conflits, entraînant finalement une faillite. De nombreux documents liés à ces affaires ont été découverts, confirmant cela.
It was quite a vivid scene, so I looked into it later. As I suspected, there had been financial troubles that led to lawsuits and other disputes, ultimately resulting in bankruptcy. Numerous related documents were found, confirming this.
人間的な恐怖。リアルな現実がそこにあるようだ。
Une peur humaine. La réalité tangible semble être là.
Human fear. The real reality seems to be present there.
ここは一番奥にあった部屋。貴賓室だろうか。
Voici la pièce située tout au fond. Serait-ce une salle de réception?
This is the room located at the very back. Could it be a VIP room?
和室。沢山の人が訪れていたようなので、宿泊でいる場所があったのだろう。
Une salle de style japonais. Il semble qu'un grand nombre de personnes y aient séjourné, donc il devait y avoir des lieux d'hébergement.
A Japanese-style room. It seems that many people visited, so there must have been accommodations available.
ということで、最初の施設を後にし、次に見えた施設に行く。
Ainsi, je quitte la première installation et me dirige vers la prochaine installation visible.
With that, I leave the first facility and head to the next one in sight.
緑の池。元は綺麗な池だったのだろうな、と思う。
Un étang verdâtre. Je me dis qu'il devait être magnifique autrefois.
A greenish pond. I imagine it must have been beautiful in the past.
普通の玄関。
Une entrée ordinaire.
A regular entrance.
中にはこの施設で使われていたであろう物品が散乱していたが、これといって見るべきものは無い。
À l'intérieur, des objets qui avaient probablement été utilisés dans cette installation étaient éparpillés, mais il n'y avait rien de particulier à voir.
Inside, there were items that had likely been used in this facility scattered around, but there was nothing noteworthy to see.
銃眼のような明かり取り。

A light opening resembling a gun slit.
この宗教は仏教系のようで、お寺の施設のような建物があった。
Cette religion semble être de tradition bouddhiste, car il y avait un bâtiment ressemblant à une installation de temple.
This religion seems to be Buddhist, as there was a building resembling a temple facility.
入ろうとすると畳に散らばる白いもの。
En essayant d'entrer, je remarque des objets blancs éparpillés sur le tatami.
As I try to enter, I notice white objects scattered on the tatami.
なんだこれ。不気味である。
Qu'est-ce que c'est? C'est inquiétant.
What is this? It's unsettling.
広い畳の間。かつてはここで大勢の人が祈りを捧げていたのだろう。今はその余韻だけが残っている。
Une vaste pièce avec des tatamis. Autrefois, de nombreuses personnes y priaient probablement. Maintenant, il ne reste que l'écho de ces moments.
A spacious tatami room. In the past, many people likely prayed here. Now, only the remnants of that atmosphere remain.
差し込む日の光だけが広間を照らす。
Seule la lumière du jour qui filtre éclaire la grande salle.
Only the sunlight that streams in illuminates the large room.
高価そうなものもある。
Il y a aussi des objets qui semblent précieux.
There are also items that appear to be valuable.
誰も入れることもないであろうお賽銭箱。中身あるんだろうか。
Une boîte à offrandes dans laquelle personne ne doit plus rien déposer. Je me demande s'il y a encore quelque chose à l'intérieur.
An offering box that likely no one contributes to anymore. I wonder if there's anything inside.
また別の建物。
Encore un autre bâtiment.
Another building again.
このマークは菊水だ。これは楠木正成の旗印として有名で、大東亜戦争中はこの旗印を作戦名とした菊水作戦も発案された。沖縄特攻作戦に任じた戦艦大和の煙突にも、この菊水マークが描いてあったという。
このマークがここの宗教団体となんの関係があるのかは分からない。
Ce symbole est le "Kikusui". Il est célèbre comme l'emblème de Kusunoki Masashige et a également été utilisé pour nommer l'opération Kikusui pendant la guerre du Pacifique. On dit que ce symbole était dessiné sur la cheminée du cuirassé Yamato, qui a été mobilisé pour la mission kamikaze d'Okinawa.
Cependant, on ne sait pas quel lien ce symbole peut avoir avec cette organisation religieuse.
This symbol is the "Kikusui." It is famous as the banner of Kusunoki Masashige and was also used to name the Kikusui Operation during the Pacific War. It is said that this symbol was painted on the chimney of the battleship Yamato, which was assigned to the Okinawa kamikaze mission.
However, it is unclear what connection this symbol has with this religious organization.
ここには、この施設で使われていた衣類や日用品、本といったものが集積されていた。
Ici, des vêtements, des articles de toilette et des livres qui avaient été utilisés dans cette installation étaient rassemblés.
Here, clothing, daily necessities, and books that had been used in this facility were collected.
宿坊の衣服といった感じがする。

建物的には普通の家のようだった。
Le bâtiment ressemblait à une maison ordinaire.
The building looked like a regular house.
さて、最後に紹介するこの建物は、なんとも悲しく、不気味な施設だ。
Eh bien, le dernier bâtiment que je vais présenter est une installation à la fois triste et inquiétante.
Now, the last building I will introduce is a facility that is both sorrowful and eerie.
見た目はなんの変哲もない建物だが。
À première vue, c'est un bâtiment tout à fait ordinaire.

大量の位牌。左右の棚にびっしりと積まれている。

これはこんな場所に放置されていていいものなのだろうか。
Est-ce vraiment acceptable de laisser cela dans un endroit comme celui-ci?
Is it really appropriate to leave this in a place like this?
しかるべき場所で安置されなければならないだろうに。恐怖感よりも寂しさや悲しさが湧いてくる。
Cela devrait être placé dans un endroit approprié. Au lieu de ressentir de la peur, c'est un sentiment de solitude et de tristesse qui émerge.
It should be enshrined in a proper place. Instead of feeling fear, a sense of loneliness and sadness arises.
何もかも忘れ去られてしまうのだろうか。

諸行無常の響きが、この施設全体を、覆っているようであった。

The resonance of impermanence seemed to envelop the entirety of this facility.
